Maker’s Schedule, Manager’s Schedule

Paul Graham’s piece: “Maker's Schedule, Manager's Schedule” is a great one for business owners. Some of the biggest issues for my clients come up when they need to switch from being makers (creating companies, building their staffs and clientele) to being managers (running said companies, managing those who've joined).

Working in large chunks of time is one way to do it–and that's how most “makers” do it. Moving from meeting to conversation to meeting is another way, which is how most “managers” want their days to go. The above diagram is a great one to consider–which of these schedules appeals most to you? Are you using the one that’s best for your current needs?
